Free Chicago Qigong Class
If you’re looking for a free Chicago qigong class then this is perfect. Due to the partnership between the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine – Chicago and Focus Tai Chi, we are able to continue to offer these classes to the public for free. Find us on meetup.com!
Recently we have focused on a set of exercises commonly known as the 8 Brocades but the class focus is mostly on teaching the basics of qigong meditational breathing, known as DanTian breathing and the mechanics of good posture for proper energy circulation which would transfer to any style of meditation.
I am repeatedly asked at these classes if it really is free and the answer is yes. when I say free chicago qigong class I mean just that. There is always someone from the school that starts the class off by introducing some of the programs available if anyone wanted to study oriental medicine. PCOM is one of the top rated schools for oriental medicine in America and they are all some amazing people so I am only too happy to promote the school but there is never any pressure and this portion of the evening goes by very quickly then they introduce me and we start learning about and doing some qigong.
This is a very hands-on class. I do start by explaining some of the history behind the healing art of qigong and I throw in one or two colorful stories but we quickly get on to doing qigong. I am very happy to be studying for my DAOM at PCOM but I am constantly amazed at how completely they have embraced the classes I offer.
If you’re in Chicago and you want to check out a fantastic healing art that is over 4,000 years old we give this class on the second Tuesday of every month from 6-7:30 pm. Parking at Trump Tower can be validated for $12.
The location is 65 East Wacker Place, Chicago Il 60601 and we are between Wabash and Michigan Avenue on upper Wacker place on the 17th floor.
We also offer a free weekly qigong/taiji (tai chi) class on Sundays, from 3 to 4. Find us on meetup.com!
Keith is available for speaking engagements. He is also accepting a very limited number of private students. To find out more, please contact us here.
